Jocelyn tell us about yourself?

My Family and I are originally from Newark, NJ. I lived there until I was 9 years old. My mom was terrified of Newark because there was so much crime, so we basically dropped everything and moved to the Lehigh Valley around 1999.

What inspired you to become a musician?

I always had a strong desire to play the piano ever since I was a kid. Even though I had a keyboard at the age of 12, I didn't start taking lessons until I was an adult. I fell in love with playing in my first lesson and decided this is not only something I want to do for the rest of my life but also my desire to share my love for music with others as well. My goal is to become a music educator for all ages and to inspire people to follow their dreams!

What challenges did you face as a musician and how did you overcome them?

One of the toughest obstacles for me as a musician is getting over self doubt. You can practice all day long but you must have confidence to get up on stage and deliver your best performance. Sometimes I would worry if I was good enough or will I make a mistake, and just being overly critical, not realizing I am creating my own obstacles. Ultimately what keeps me going is my passion to play music and to share it with others so I can play right through it.
